A fly-tipper who was caught dumping their household waste on Teddington High Street has been fined £400.
The perpetrator has been causing “litter and highway obstructions” in the street.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for environment said: “Fly-tipping is antisocial, it is criminal and it is a blight on our borough.
“The council has previously warned people that we have the power to fine fly-tippers and we would not hesitate to use it.
“Let this case serve as proof of that.
“Do not fly-tip. We will catch you and you will be fined.”
Following this the council has issued a reminder to residents that those living in homes “without internal or external waste storage provision must keep their waste within their property”- only putting it out between 8pm the evening before collection and 6am the next morning.
