A Chipstead snooker star has described his remarkable nine day run of success as "not bad."

Ronnie Sullivan not only took out his fifth winner’s trophy during his latest run of form, but also earned a place in the final of the English Under-14 Championship.

It wasn't all easy going for the 13-year-old though as he had to overcome some pre-stage nerves before the last-16 of the national junior event.

“We went up there on Friday and had a practice,” Ronnie said.

“I started off well. Then I just went downhill.

“I got a bit tense in my arm so we called it a day and went out to have something to eat and I went to bed early.”

But he came back strong the next morning and rattled off three consecutive wins to push him into June's final.

“I want to be (number) one," Ronnie said.

"I’m not going to accept second place. No one remembers second place. I’ve got to win.

“If I do win, it would be great.”

“Getting to the final is not bad (though).”
