Tributes have been paid to a loving father who was 'always smiling' after his death in a motorcycle crash in Mitcham.

Mechanic Christopher Krzysiek, 37, died following a crash in Mitcham on February 12.

Speaking to the Wimbledon Guardian, his close friend Adam Jurgielewicz said: “Christopher was a person extremely helpful and always smiling, I do not remember seeing him sad, he never complained and he enjoyed life and what he had.

“I [knew] him four years and exchanged tyres for his neighbour, he was always willing to help me with any situation and never refused to help.

“Like me he liked to crack jokes, sending funny videos to each other, I will miss this dearly.”

Christopher lived in Mitcham and was the owner of M & K Mobile Car Service and had many satisfied customers.

He was interested in old classic cars, being an owner of two in Poland and had a passion for motorcycles.

He was involved in a collision sadly a few metres from where he lived after the motorbike he was riding crashed in Windmill Road.

The police and the London Air Ambulance Service attended just before 11am but he was pronounced dead at the scene by 11.29am.

Adam said: “I heard about the accident from a friend. I did not believe at first.

“Immediately I sat in my car and I went to the scene. The view was terrible. I saw the police and the white tent and until the last moment I thought that this was a mistake and Christopher was alive.

“I approached the policeman and said 'I am a friend of Christopher and is it true that he is dead' which he answered ‘dead’.”

Christopher leaves behind a wife and two sons, 12 and 7.

Adam said: "Christopher’s wife, Joanne is heartbroken about this whole situation she is shocked and does not believe what happened.

“She is afraid of what will happen with their lives and if she can manage alone without the support of her beloved husband.

“But I believe that with the support of her family and friends she will succeed and survive those hard moments.”

Since Christopher's death, a Gofundme page has been set up by Adam to bring the 37-year-old’s body back to Poland where his friends and family live.

So far more than £5,000 has been raised.

Adam said: “We decided to put money on Gofundme to support Joanne and the children in difficult times.

“The response was amazing after about 10 hours, we had over 3,000 pounds.

“People called, wrote and did not believe and they just wanted help. After that you can see how many friends he had and what good the person was. It was impossible not to like him.”
