There is a little more than 10 months to go until the first new council houses in nearly three decades are expected to be built.
A total of 93 new homes will be split across three sites in Wallington, Carshalton and Beddington, something Sutton Councillor Jayne McCoy is excited to see come to fruition.
“It is fantastic to see the first new council houses in a generation finally becoming a reality," she said after visiting the site last week.
“We insisted on high quality designs that will provide an excellent living environment for residents and enhance the local landscape.
“I look forward to welcoming the first families from our housing waiting list into their new homes in the near future.”
Ten of the 93 homes will be wheelchair accessible and work on the first site is due for completion later this year.
