Three males have been arrested after a firearm was recovered from a pulled over car in Purley Way this evening.
It was part of a pre-planned operation from the Met's Trident and Gangs Command.
The vehicle was stopped on Purley Way at 5.39pm (February 13).
Three males were arrested on suspicion of possessing an illegal firearm . They currently remain in a central London police station.
Trident Area and Crime Command are investigating the incident.
Purley Way has now reopened.
