Two men have reportedly made off with a 'quantity of cash' from West Norwood post office.

Police were called to West Norwood Post Office, in Knight’s Hill, at around 11.30am today (February 9).

Police said no arrests have been made at this time.

Shopkeeper Nick Patel, 50, said: “The first time they came in they were standing in the queue, they looked at everything, and then went outside the post office and were standing outside the front door. Then they went away and they came back inside.

“The counter clerk was taking the parcels and the guy just dived in [through the parcel hatch]. When he dived in he pushed the clerk at the back so that no one could go in behind him.

“They pushed the two clerks inside. One fell and hit their head on the table and the other lady fell down.

“They stole the money in the post office and stole money from all the counters.”

A Met Police spokesman said there were no reports of any weapons used or any injuries.

He added: “Two males entered the venue and made off with a quantity of cash.

“Officers from the Flying Squad have been informed. Enquiries continue.”
