A body believed to belong to the man who went missing after entering the Thames near Hampton Court earlier this month has been found at Chelsea Embankment.
Although not formally identified, the man’s family has been informed of the discovery, which was made on January 30.
Police were called at about 4.20am on January 5 to reports of two men being seen going into the river.
One man was rescued and did not require medical attention, and a “substantial” search effort was made to find the second.
The search involved police from Surrey, the Met and National Police Air Support, the RNLI, The Environment Agency and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
Although the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious, anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference PR/P18003211.
