Two members of the former Epsom Coaches holidays team have been shortlisted for a national tourism award.

Melanie Cox and Alistair Scott have been shortlisted as a team in the category for ‘Coach Tourism Professional of the Year’ in the British Coach Tourism Awards.

They now both work for coach tour operator Gardiners NMC, which acquired Epsom Coaches last year and still employs five people in Epsom.

Adrian Smith, managing director, was also nominated.

Mr Smith said: “Since joining Gardiners in May last year, Melanie Cox and Alistair Scott have played a vital role in ensuring we continue to offer the people of Epsom and south west London the same high-quality range of coach holidays and day excursions.

“Melanie is now general manager south and Alistair is product and development manager, responsible for all our tours and day excursions.

“To have their commitment to the coach tourism industry recognised in this way is testament to a tremendous amount of hard work and a remarkable year.”

The BCTA recognises excellence and innovation among UK coach tour operators, visitor attractions, tourist destinations and tourism suppliers.

Gardiners NMC has also been shortlisted in the categories for ‘Coach Holiday Programme’ and ‘Day Excursion Programme’.

The results will be announced on Wednesday March 21.
