A man has been killed in a serious accident on the B275, Warham Road in Croydon.
The road is closed both ways after the crash, near Croydon Bowling Club.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 17.11hrs on Monday, 22 January to Warham Road, South Croydon CR2 to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
"Officers attended. Despite efforts to resuscitate the male pedestrian, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 18.04hrs.
"Efforts to trace next of kin are ongoing. A post mortem will be held in due course.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene. No arrest; enquiries continue.
"The Roads and Transport Policing Command will investigate.
"Road closures are in place.
