A man who possibly poked a stick through a Morden letter box to steal the keys to a BMW has been given a custodial sentence of 45 months.
Rico Persechino, 28, of Manorgate Road in Kingston, pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court on December 21 2017 to burglary and theft.
After successfully fishing for the keys from inside the Wolsey Crescent home, he made off with the stolen car.
Merton Police said: “We always advise homeowners not to leave any keys in sight of the letterbox as it gives a skilled ‘fisher’ easy access to your items.”
