New Malden Residents Association's first public meeting of 2018 will take place on January 23.

The meeting will focus on home security, fire safety and saving energy, with experts from the police, fire services and energy saving units set to speak at the event.

Taking place at New Malden Methodist Church, 49 High Street, it will also be the first meeting held with the new secretary Dr Tariq Shabbeer.

Anyone who attends can sign up for free home energy surveys, for any home based in Kingston Borough.

KT3 residents and businesses are being targeted because reports show high degrees of fuel poverty in that area.

The surveys include personalised visits for the installation of free energy saving devices such as LED light bulbs, radiator reflectors, pipe insulation and draught excluders.

All costs are paid for by Kingston Council and the Government.

Attendees are asked to arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

For any further details, contact the secretary Dr Tariq Shabbeer on 07443 508 514 or email: tariqshabbeer@hotmail.com.
