Kingston Guildhall has celebrated its first wedding of the year, tying the knot between a local couple.
Mr Alexandru and Mrs Izabela Vlad said their vows in the Old Court House surrounded by friends and family on Friday (January 5).
It was registrar Rachel Bartlett’s first ever ceremony and she was overjoyed.
Alexandru and Izabela said: "Today has been really special. We live locally and loved the venue when we saw it.
“The ceremony was lovely, we wouldn't have known that it was Rachel's first one!
“We’re now looking forward to continuing the party on the riverside.”
Rachel Bartlett said: "It's been quite nerve-wracking and exciting all at the same time.
“During the ceremony I found myself getting emotional with them.
“I'm sure they'll be very happy together and I was delighted to be part of their day."
In 2017 there were 300 weddings at the council’s Register Office at the Guildhall.
