A 21-year-old man has been charged after a police officer was stabbed in the leg following reports of a robbery in Sutton.
Murice Lennon, of Tivoli Road in Lambeth, was charged on January 4 with grievous bodily harm with intent to resist arrest, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of cannabis.
Officers were called to reports of a knife-point robbery near to St James Road at around 7pm on January 2.
A male officer suffered a leg injury in Sutton High Street after being stabbed following a foot chase to detain the suspect, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening as he remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Lennon appeared before judges at Croydon Magistrates' Court and has been remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court on February 1.
