Pret A Manger will open in Epsom shortly after New Year’s Day.

Epsom’s first Pret opens in 93-95 High Street on January 3 and has seating for 100 customers, free Wifi, and free filtered water tap.

Pret’s menu of sandwiches, baguettes, salads, snacks and hot food will be on offer and all fresh items will be made daily in the kitchen by the shop team.

Unsold food at the end of each day will be donated to local charity Sanctuary Supported Living.

Over the past year, Pret’s national scheme has distributed over three million food items to hostels and shelters across the UK.

The iconic company upped the ante of the simple sandwich, getting a star from famous food critic Egon Ronay back in the nineties.

Nowadays having a Pret (AKA “posh Greggs”) in your area is seen as a sign of affluence – just ask Dubai and Singapore.

The opening hours of the new shop are: Mon to Saturday from 7am to 7pm and Sunday from 8am to 6pm.
