Whether you are an expert with a mobile phone or state of the art recorder, you now have the chance to show off what you are are made of at the Crystal Palace International Film Festival.

The CPIFF have joined forces with Croydon Council and are looking to give filmmakers aged between 16 and 26 a leg up in their careers.

Roberta Gallinari, one of the founders of CPIFF, said: "This award is designed to inspire young film makers to go on to greater things and carve out a career in the film and TV industry, something few are currently achieving.

“The CPIFF Awards Finale is an incredibly inspiring environment where any film maker would be motivated to pursue their career much further. “We are also contacting the other four boroughs of Crystal Palace to see if they want to inspire their young film makers and have a five borough finale with five winners and an overall rising star.”

Films can be submitted for free, must be under 15 minutes long and can be of any genre.

Mrs Roberta said: “You don't need expensive equipment, just a great idea and a good execution - CPIFF has screened films shot on a mobile phone.”
