Katniss Everdeen can eat her heart out, a Richmond teenager is the national under 16s archery champion.

Fifteen-year-old Eleanor Cole shot for Junior England in the Home Nations match against Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland last weekend.

Speaking after the awards ceremony, Eleanor said: “It's been really great to shoot for England this year and I'm really happy to have shot so well and won the Under 16 title.

“I didn't really expect to do so well here as I have been changing my technique recently with my coach so it’s a really nice surprise for it to come together at the National Championships.”

Not only did England manage to clinch the home nations indoor crown, she also shot an incredible 566/600 points to claim the U16 National Title.

Eleanor, who attends Orleans Park School and shoots at Royal Richmond Archery club in Old Deer Park, was also participating in the Junior National Indoor Championships which ran concurrently.

Eleanor is sitting her GCSE's this year and has to balance study and training carefully, but who knows, maybe we will be seeing her at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games?
