Would go-karting and bowling make you love where you work? Or would you just prefer an opportunity to shine?

Well Caridon Property seem to have figured out the secret formula.

The business has been named a finalist at the National Happiness Awards.

Neelofer Georgiou has only been part of the Caridon team for two months, but has already seen what makes it one of the happiest workplaces in the country.

"Team dinners, social networking events, even go-karting," she said.

"Just getting out as a group and doing things you might not normally do after work really."

It's not all about fun after work though.

Ms Georgiou said happiness starts from the top.

"Beyond the salary, you want to feel part of the team," she said.

"People feel valued and respected because it’s a company that want to invest in their staff.

"Here, you’re allowed to shine."

So does she have any tips on how to boost moral workplace moral?

You better believe she does.

"Number one is having passion," she said.

"When you see your leaders having a passion it inspires you as well.

"You will get better productivity if your staff feel they are being invested in.

"The Caridon group started off as a family business 10 years ago

The awards are run by learning and development company Laughology, which is behind the Happy-Centred Schools programme.

Caridon beat out hundreds of other applicants and will find out once and for all if its workplace is in fact the happiest in all the land at the awards ceremony tomorrow (November 17).
