Banstead care home, Greenacres, hosted a series of special Remembrance Day events to honour those who fought and died in the wars.
Greenacres residents and staff observed the minute silence at 11am on Saturday before releasing red, helium-filled balloons carrying with the names of loved ones.
Residents then enjoyed and reminisced with local singer, Sarah Locke, at a Remembrance sing-a-long.
Activity Co-ordinator, Alice said: “Remembrance Day is just as relevant now as it always has been; to honour those who fought for us is our way of thanking them for their courage and service.
“Reminiscence is important to our residents and therefore it is important to our home. Although it is a day to remember, we hope to bring happiness and joy into the day by hosting the events.”
In the afternoon families and friends were invited into the home’s conservatory for tea and cakes.
