Richmond Council is cracking down on graffiti and has urged residents to do the same.
On its website it states: “Graffiti is a criminal offence; if you are a victim of graffiti or witness an act of graffiti please report it to the police.
“Our Street Scene Enforcement Team work closely with the police to share information about graffiti offenders.”
The council will remove graffiti from private properties and from small businesses for free, but a large business- more than nine staff nationally- can pay a yearly rate of £120 or pay a one off removal fee.
Victims of graffiti must download a form to have the council remove it.
