The churches of Teddington are calling for volunteers to help with their annual Christmas lunch for the elderly and anyone who would otherwise be alone.
The Christmas Day lunch is taking place in Elleray Hall and will be accompanied with entertainment, mince pies, refreshments and festivities.
Volunteers are also needed to give people lifts to and from the lunch, to help with the preparations and to serve the food.
Organiser Colin Hicks said: “Many of the volunteer tasks can be fitted around a family Christmas. This could be all the more enjoyable for having helped to give some folk, who might otherwise be alone, a truly happy Christmas.”
The Hampton Fuel Allotment Charity is supporting the lunch, but additional donations both of money and small gifts for the guests are welcome.
If you – or someone you know – are from Teddington, Twickenham or the Hamptons and would like to attend you can call Colin and Elizabeth Hicks on 0208 977 8000 or email: office@teddingtonbaptist.org.uk
