This December don't miss London’s first live-events advent calendar which comes to Wimbledon - and IT’S FREE.

Each day from December 1 to 24, a different door will open unveiling a unique experience as part of a festival called Bobblehat.

Scattered across Wimbledon town, locations could range from an underground car park, an empty shop, a cinema, library, school or even a windmill.

And at each venue there'll be a different entertainment event - whether it's a performance of Midsummer Night’s Dream (unlike any other) or an interactive magic show, or a race against time to help Father Christmas fix his sleigh, or a live jazz band.

With nothing more than a ‘hint’ available beforehand, with details kept secret until it opens, audiences will step into a new world where each space is to be transformed for that evening.

Helen Clark Bell of Love Wimbledon said: “It’s one of a kind, and 24 of a kind as it will be spread across 24 days.

“With extremely exciting events, different acts tension will be mounting.

“ London’s first Live Advent Calendar will be terrifically exciting for everyone that attends. Whether it’s 4 o clock or 7 clock every event is a surprise and you won’t know what’s coming until it actually happens.”

Audiences will be invited to lose themselves in

There will be a huge variety of established and emerging artists and companies involved including Lukas McFarlane (winner of Sky 1s ‘Got to Dance), award winning cycling Shakespeare Company the HandleBards, comedy sketch duo Goodbear and The Twin Swing.

The calendar is called Bobblehat, and is created by William Alder Productions Ltd led by artistic director William Alder who grew up in Wimbledon.

He said: “Wimbledon is the ideal place to launch the Bobblehat festival with its thriving local town and a wide demographic of residents, whilst also having a great existing local festival scene and the best bit is, it’s where I grew up!”
