The Richmond upon Thames Literature Festival is just around the corner with a spectacular line-up to fit every reader’s taste.

Richmond Council’s Arts Service has put together the programme, which will run from November 3 to 29 and includes former Richmond resident and author of acclaimed AA Milne biography, Ann Thwaite, discussing her book which has recently been adapted into the film ‘Goodbye Christopher Robin’.

Families and young people will also be well represented with interactive workshops and appearances by Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell, and author David Baddiel.

Why not start that first novel? There will be writing workshops held during the festival, but they have a capacity of 16 so get in quickly.

Events will take place all around the borough, including Hampton Library, The Exchange in Twickenham, and the Bingham in Richmond.

Councillor David Linnette, cabinet member for culture, sport and the voluntary sector said: “We are very proud of this festival and we are always thrilled to be able to welcome such a talented group of authors to the borough.

“This year's festival is set to be our most diverse yet, with an even greater range of creative talent on board to enthral fans this winter.

“I know events will be in high demand so I urge anyone who is interested to get their tickets as soon as they can so they don’t miss out.”

Catherine Hewitt, who is returning to the Festival to discuss her new book ‘Reinor’s Dancer’, said: “I am delighted to be coming to speak at Richmond again this year! It is such a welcoming and friendly environment.

“As a writer, it is a wonderful opportunity to meet readers and hear their thoughts and ideas.

“The reader is such an important part of a writer’s work, so the value of the intimate contact Richmond Literature Festival encourages cannot be overstated.

“And of course for readers, it provides the perfect occasion to pose all those questions they have been burning to ask.”
