When a member of the Croham Hurst Golf Club was diagnosed with a condition that saw them prematurely lose nerve cells in certain parts of the brain, St Christopher's Hospice was there to help out.

When the father of the golf club's head chef also developed the condition, it was St Christopher's once again who helped out.

Now the golf club has decided to give something back.

In the past year, the golf club has raised £20,000, which it decided to split equally between St Christopher's and the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association.

A presentation day was held on October 25 where people talked about their experiences with the disease and how the charities have helped not just those with the disease, but family and friends as well.
