A Wallington man who attacked a traffic warden who issued a penalty charge notice to a member of his family has been jailed for 18 weeks.
Christopher Paul Jake Schot, 29, of Harcourt Road, pleaded guilty to an offence of ABH on the warden at Wallington High Street at around 2.50pm on June 12.
A Sutton Police spokesman said: "The officer was approached from behind and punched in the back of the head and the face, causing him to fall to the ground and making his nose bleed.
"The victim recognised his attacker as someone who had verbally abused him previously, at the same location, for issuing a Penalty Charge Notice to a member of the perpetrator's family."
Schot fled the scene before CCTV footage led to him being identified, arrested and charged.
He was sentenced at Croydon Magistrates' Court on October 10.
