A new dog-friendly café has opened in East Sheen complete with doggy menu.

This is the second venture of its kind from café owner Louise Rawlinson, who has another Paws for Coffee in Hampton Hill.

Ms Rawlinson thought of the idea six years ago.

She said: “I read a lovely book about a dog-friendly cafe and thought to myself that would be lovely in London as dogs are never welcome.

“There are a lot of lonely people out there- dogs and humans bring happiness to people so the combination is perfect.”

The canine enthusiast has a long history with pooches.

She said: “My Father is a dog behaviourist aka ‘the dog listener’.

“I started dog walking 13 years ago and when the laws changed for dog walkers where we can only walk four dogs at a time, I opened a doggy day care in Chessington called Sociable Canines.

“It’s in the Crown Estate so only dog walkers are permitted to use the fields.

“I’m also a dog trainer and run weekly six week puppy courses.”

The café even has a doggy menu, including a ‘puppucino’- a “big hearty bowl of warmed goats milk and pieces of delicious black pudding”.

Customers can also get doggy ice lollies in various flavours, calf hoof, dried fish, chicken foot and homemade dog treats.

Since the opening, Ms Rawlinson said: “We have had a busy start with lots of new faces and old faces popping over from Hampton Hill.

“We are hoping to get all the local community in with all the children and dogs.

“Can’t wait to see what the lead up to Christmas brings along with 2018 and looking forward to meeting all my new neighbours here in Sheen.

Paws for Coffee opened on October 6 and is located at 364 Upper Richmond Road.
