A building company is in the early stages of replacing a carpark on Wandle Road with a 25-storey block of flats.

An environmental impact assessment has been submitted on behalf of Brick by Brick to determine whether the Wandle Road Car Park would be a suitable location for the 129 homes to be built.

The site is currently occupied by a council-run car park (with car-share spaces) for 255 vehicles.

The design is still in the pre-application process, meaning discussions with council planning officers and public consultations are still ongoing.

Brick by Brick is aiming to submit a full planning application by the end of November 2017.

The estimated construction time for the proposed development would be approximately two years, with construction completion anticipated for 2020, if plans to build are approved.
