Six people have been evacuated from their homes in West Norwood after a gas pipe was ruptured.
The London Fire Brigade were called at 12:36pm to Lansdowne Road following reports that a car had crash into a house.
It was found that the car had reversed into the house's porch area, damaging the gas meter and rupturing the gas pipe.
After the first crash, the car was then driven forward, crashing into a second house.
"Firefighters acted quickly with industrial strength putty to sure up the pipe," a LFB spokesman said.
"Six people had to be evacuated from four different homes.
"The woman driving the car has been checked by London Ambulance Service and we believe she hasn't suffered any injury
"We’re liaising with the gas company to fix the issue."
Lansdown Hill is currently closed.
