Croydon Council's headquarters in the heart of town has been evacuated after a fire alarm went off.
Bernard Weatherill House on 8 Mint Walk was evacuated at around 3.30pm this afternoon. A wintness said the alarm stopped just after 4pm.
The Croydon Guardian have contacted the London Fire Brigade and a spokesman said they have not been called about any fire at the building.
Tom Bowell was around the area when he heard the alarm go off.
"I walked around to Fell Road, and saw the evacuation happening.
"It must of lasted around 15 mins. All the evacuees are congregating by Fairfield Halls.
"The fire alarm has been going off the whole time."
