There is still time to nominate someone you believe to be an unsung community hero for the Wandsworth Civic Award.

The awards are a way of praising and saying thanks to people who have volunteered their services over a long period of time to help and support others who might need it.

These people can be charity workers who run local clubs or groups, or someone who lends a helping hand to friends or neighbours.

It can be anyone who makes a noticeable difference to their area of the borough.

Among last year’s winners were Sid Khan from the Earlsfield Boxing Club, Sheila Hill for her contribution to local history and heritage, Shakeel Ahmed Syed who has supported causes in Tooting, and the Wandsworth Parent Champions who raise awareness of support available to families with disabled children.

To nominate someone, you must include their name, phone number, email address, as well as your name and contact details in addition to why they deserve the award.

Finalists who are chosen from the nominations will be invited to attend a special award ceremony at the town hall in November.

The deadline for entries is October 17.
