Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old schoolboy was assaulted in Clapham on Monday (September 18).

The boy was attacked in Voltaire Road, near Clapham Leisure Centre, at around 3.40pm when he was walking home from school.

He was grabbed from behind and raised up before being dropped to the ground and kicked several times.

The suspect is described as a "white or a light-skinned black male with a scarred face", and was wearing green shorts and a green jacket with a hood.

While the victim sustained some bruising from the assault and was distressed, he did not require hospital treatment.

No arrests have been made so far as enquiries continue.
