A charity that supports disabled horse riders has been awarded funding of £15,000.
The Diamond Centre in Woodmansterne Road, Carshalton, maintains facilities for up to 360 disabled children and adults every week.
Funding was granted thanks to The Masonic Charitable Foundation - a group that supported 300 charities with a share of £3 million.
Steve Axon, Chairman of Trustees at The Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders, said: "We really appreciate the support we have received from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Surrey and the donations we have received from local masonic lodges. Over the years this funding has helped in a number of ways including the purchase of special equipment for our disabled riders; subsidising some of our specialised riding lessons and training; and sponsoring our horses.
"It was an honour to be nominated for this special award and good to know that we can rely on Surrey Freemasonry to support Diamond."
The charity costs £320,000 each year to run with the aim to keep riding affordable for users. Money is raised through donations, legacies and fundraising events.
