Crystal Palace’s TV Sewing Bee, Ghislaine Ghazon, will be sharing her stitching skills with dressmakers and sewing fans later this month when The Great British Sewing Bee Live opens its doors for the first time at ExCel London.

Ghislaine joins contestants from across the programme’s four seasons to lend her support to volunteers taking part in a live alteration challenge in front of a 1200 person theatre.

Ghislaine said: “I’m inspired by beautiful fabrics and passionate about creating and sewing garments.

"I can’t wait to show everyone how satisfying it is to make your own clothes and develop an individual style in the process.”

The live event is hosted by BBC Children in Need Sewing Bee Celebrity Special host Jenny Éclair and featuring TV judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young.

Sewing Bee judge Esme Young said: “Whether you’re a professional tailor or hobby dressmaker, fashion student or vintage fan, there’s something for everyone with a love of sewing, and even complete beginners keen to give it a go.

"We hope visitors will leave the show inspired and full of ideas for their next dressmaking project.”

Ghislaine is currently preparing for her second fashion show since The Great British Sewing Bee for Black History Month, in association with Zil’oKA.

She will be creating and showcasing modern pieces inspired by fashion through the creole culture and generations.

She is also working on a 1940s and 50s-inspired bridal/honeymoon lounge and nightwear collaboration with designer Tasha Howell.

The duo will be launch a crowdfunding campaign early in 2018 for the collection.
