A man in Morden says dead frogs have been mysteriously appearing in his back garden overnight.

Mark Hopkins, who has lived in Williams Lane for over 20 years, told the Wimbledon Guardian he has been finding "three or four dead frogs" every week for the past two months.

At least two other neighbours have reported the same phenomenon, Mr Hopkins said, which proves he is not hopping mad.

The frogs are about four inches in size, and varying shades of green or black.

Mr Hopkins, who did not wish to give his age but describes himself as a 'heart throb', said: "I don't think it's cats as the cats would usually mutilate them. They don't seem butchered.

"I had a look on Google and there was a disease three or four years ago that made them turn orange, but these frogs haven't turned orange."

The area is usually frequented by the amphibians, it is believed, but they are normally alive.

Anyone who may know more about the frogs is urged to contact the Wimbledon Guardian, who is ribbeted by the case.

Mr Hopkins said: "Something's been making them croak it - for want of a better word."
