Businesses and creative entrepreneurs from across the capital will have the opportunity to showcase their wares, rent-free, at Battersea Power Station next month.

From September 7 to December 24 at Circus West Village, independent creative brands and designer-maker businesses from both the Wandsworth community and across London can use the space alongside partnerships with larger cultural brands.

It is said the units will benefit from thousands of people who will pass at Grosvenor Arch.

The studio spaces will form part of an emerging community at Battersea Power Station, alongside independent restaurants and a curated programme of activities that take place every weekend on the riverside at the site.

The development has a link directly along the river to Battersea Park, and this autumn more people will be able to visit via the river bus with a new dedicated pier at Battersea Power Station.

Tenant invitations are based on an open call-out, pitch and themed programming process, which then goes through the curation team at Battersea Power Station.

Rob Tincknell, chief executive of Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: “We want to support a new generation of creative people and are seeking young, independent commercial businesses that are making products and stories across design, art, craft, fashion, publishing, new tech and beyond.

“The spaces will initially be offered rent-free and we have started reaching out to the local community, businesses and creative networks across the city.

“Initially, the spaces will be available from Thursday to Sunday each week, and the tenancies will rotate regularly to showcase a range of creative ideas across the season.

“I love the idea that when the office spaces in the power station are complete, we will have some of the biggest businesses in the world working alongside start-up businesses with just one employee.”

For the chance to join this programme, you can email the curation team and send an introduction about what you wish to do, what you make, and what you would like to bring.

You will then be sent more details to see how it could be supported and a further invitation.
