Urinating in public, fly-tipping a Christmas tree and spitting on the pavement.

These are just a few of the offences that have seen people fined as a result of the Croydon Council's ongoing Don’t Mess With Croydon – Take Pride campaign.

The latest round of court cases saw a further 16 people prosecuted at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on June 27, July 4, and August 15.

In total the offenders were ordered to pay a combined total of £6,158.

The prosecutions were:

• Stephanie Abbey, aged 19, of Stockbury Road in Croydon, was ordered to pay a total of £674 for fly-tipping a bag of household waste on the road at the junction of Stockbury Road and Chart Close on February 8, 2017.

• Jean Mangulie, of Brigstock Road in Thornton Heath, was ordered to pay a total of £674 for fly-tipping two bags of rubbish on the road at the junction of Nutfield Road and Brigstock Road on January 18, 2017.

• Kevin Luke Lee, aged 23, of Cabot Close in Croydon, was ordered to pay a total of £630 for urinating in a car park in London Road, West Croydon, on December 16, 2016.

• Rochelle Lewis, of Merton Road in South Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £630 for fly-tipping a bed base, a TV box and two black sacks on a nearby footpath on December 16, 2016.

• Joy Brown, of Portland Road in South Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £630 for fly-tipping household rubbish on the pavement in Portland Road on December 6 and December 15 2016.

• Adjaie Peeler, aged 38, of Newhaven Road in South Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £630 for fly-tipping several bags of household rubbish on the pavement in Newhaven Road on November 12, 2016 and November 25, 2016.

• Maya Pawulowski, aged 20, of Furze Road in Thornton Heath, was ordered to pay a total of £420 for fly-tipping a sofa and a Christmas tree on Furze Road on January 16 and January 18, 2017.

• Sohail Ali, aged 47, of Lake Road in Croydon, was ordered to pay a total of £360 for fly-tipping household waste and cardboard packaging on the road at Monks Orchard recycling centre on January 30, 2017.

• Zhane Finikin, of Portland Road in South Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £350 for fly-tipping bags of household rubbish on the pavement in Portland Road on December 6, 2016 and February 15, 2017.

• Jessica Martins, aged 23, of Regina Road in South Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £300 for littering packaging on the pavement in Regina Road on February 20, 2017.

• Jaydine Mathews, aged 21, of Manorfield in Crawley, West Sussex, was ordered to pay a total of £240 for spitting in Mint Walk on December 16, 2016.

• Catherine Murphy, of Portland Road in South Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £190 for fly-tipping a black rubbish sack on Portland Road on December 20, 2016.

• Carlos Jose Alves Donascimento, aged 44, of High Street, West Norwood, was ordered to pay a total of £190 for littering a cigarette onto the ground in Croydon high street on January 5, 2017.

• Mohsen Aghaei, of Columbine Avenue in South Croydon, was ordered to pay a total of £100 for littering a cigarette onto the ground in North End on January 12, 2017.

• Lorraine Whyte, of Tedder Road in South Croydon, was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £70 for fly-tipping cardboard boxes in a communal area of a block of flats in Tedder Road on January 12, 2017.

• Afeisha Williams, of Tedder Road in South Croydon, was given a conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a total of £70 for fly-tipping cardboard boxes in a communal area of a block of flats in Tedder Road on January 12, 2017.

The council has now successfully prosecuted 167 cases since launching its Don’t Mess With Croydon – Take Pride campaign in summer 2014.
