A man arrested on suspicion of pushing a woman into the path of a bus in Putney has been released with no further action.

Eric Bellquist, 41, was last week named as the man arrested on August 10 after police released a video of the incident.

On May 5, a 33-year-old woman was walking across Putney Bridge on the east side heading towards Putney Bridge tube station when she was pushed by a jogger. The bus driver swerved out of the way in time to avoid hitting her,

A few minutes later, the jogger came back the other way across the bridge but did not acknowledge the victim.

Mr Bellquist, an investment banker from Chelsea, has now been eliminated from the investigation.

His lawyers Duncan Lewis released a statement stating that their client had "irrefutable proof" that he was abroad at the time of the incident.

Police enquiries into the identity of the jogger continue. He is described as a white man, aged early to mid 30s, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a light grey t-shirt and dark blue shorts.
