The Thornton Heath Festival is nearly here.

For its tenth instalment, the festival will stick to what it does best, a variety of stalls, fun fair, a carnival procession and a stage full of entertainers.

The event will run from noon until 6pm on Sunday, September 3 and take place on Thornton Heath High Street. The road will be closed off for the day.

Festival vice chairman, Councillor Callton Young said he was "looking forward to helping to deliver yet another fabulous day for the community."

"A lot of exceptionally good talent is coming out of Thornton Heath at the moment and the festival is an opportunity to showcase that and to bring in good acts from further afield to create a great party atmosphere.

"Each year we aim to raise our game and this year is no different.

"That said it is getting harder as last was so spectacularly good with acts like Triniboi Joocie and One the Band bringing Soca vibes to our the festival.”
