A McDonald’s in Sutton will not be permitted to implement a 24-hour drive-thru after Sutton’s Planning Committee turned down the request last night at the Civic Offices.

The North Cheam fast food restaurant proposal was reportedly turned town due to potential disruption to resident’s sleep caused by vehicles and passengers.

McDonalds argued that the plans “would not lead to a significantly greater impact on neighbours then the current situation” and that it “would not have any undue transport/highway or parking impacts”.

However, the request was denied and the food chain will now continue trading from 5am to 1am seven days a week.
