Eleven pantomime horses lined up to race at Sandown at the annual Elmbridge Community Raceday (oh yes they did).

Bridle Gem, the Elmbridge Council horse, won and was presented with a bottle of champagne.

Money was raised at the exit collection for Oasis Childcare, the Mayor’s chosen charity, who aim to encourage and support families to make positive life choices.

Mayor of Elmbridge Councillor Rachel Lake said: “I am thrilled that Sandown Park Racecourse have again included the Pantomime Horse Race in the Elmbridge Community Raceday. It is always a huge highlight in the year and a real pleasure to thank all of those who entered for their sense of fun and commitment.

“Congratulations to the winners! I would also like to thank the exit collectors from Oasis Childcare for collecting money for my chosen charity at the end of the afternoon.”
