A sensory garden, sandpit, trampoline, zip wire, lookout tower, talking tubes, double bay swing and visual aid panels are coming to a children’s playground in Leatherhead.
The winning design for Forty Foot Playground was announced by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) this week.
Winning play company Kompa, whose design was voted the most popular in July’s public consultation, will begin work on the playground in September.
Ray Parker, Area Sales Manager at Kompan, said: “I am delighted that MVDC has selected us to build the new Forty Foot play facility.
“The design encourages children of all ages and abilities to play, learn and imagine. I can't wait to see the finished result.”
Councillor Lucy Botting, executive member for wellbeing, said: “It is only by the local community engaging with us and providing feedback in the two rounds of consultation that an engaging and inclusive playground will be built.
“We will continue to invest in play provision that is exciting and inclusive, ensuring residents of all abilities have the opportunity to participate in play and wellbeing activities.”
