The Alzheimer’s Society is calling for people to sign up to their Surrey Memory Walk to raise money to fight dementia.
So far, more than 1,300 supporters have registered for the event, which is on Sunday October 8 at Painshill Park, Cobham.
There are more than 16,200 people in Surrey who have dementia, and last year’s walk raised £293,000 to help people living with the condition.
Sue Rennie, Alzheimer’s Society Operations Manager for Surrey, said: “Dementia is set to be this century’s biggest killer.
“We are calling on family, friends and furry four-legged supporters to unite against dementia this autumn. Dementia devastates lives. Walk with us at Memory Walk and dementia won’t win.
“Every pound raised will help Alzheimer’s Society provide information and support, improve care, fund research and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.”
