Two people are in hospital after a car crashed in the early hours of Tuesday morning (July 25) in Worcester Park.

The car overturned on Central Road before ending up outside Sainsbury’s.

A Metropolitan Spokesman said: “Police were called at 02.30 hrs on Tuesday July 25 to reports of an overturned vehicle on Central Road.

“A driver and passenger were taken to hospital and they remain in a stable condition.”

One woman, who was woken up when the crash occurred, told Sutton Guardian: “We were in bed at half two in morning and then we heard this massive smashing noise. It’s hard to describe.”

“My partner jumped out of bed and said ‘oh my god’ look at this. I looked out of the window and the car was on its side. I called the police and ambulance services.”

According to the woman, the response from the emergency services was “amazing”.
