A son is offering a £5,000 reward for the return of jewellery that belonged to his father after a burglary in Keston Park.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said a safe containing items of ‘great sentimental value’ was stolen from his mother’s house on July 3.

The family were on holiday to commemorate his late father’s birthday, who died in March this year, when the house was reportedly broken into in “broad daylight”.

The Keston Park resident said: “It was just jewellery in it, there was nothing of monetary value, it has sentimental value and we are all a bit heartbroken.”

The man added that there has been a ‘spate’ of burglaries in the area and said that there has been at least three break-ins in the last two months.

The stolen jewellery included an Elgin brand gold pocket watch and chain, a set of pearl cufflinks and a matching tie pin and a half sovereign ring.

Police in Bromley are investigating the incident.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said there have been no arrests so far, and confirmed that three other burglaries have happened in the area in recent months.
