A baby boy believed to have fallen out a window from a block of flats in Croydon is in critical condition.
The incident happened in St James’s Road yesterday afternoon, with police being called at 2.44pm.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The child - an 11-month old boy - is understood to have fallen from a fourth-floor window.
"He was taken to a south London hospital suffering a head injury. The child's condition is described as critical.”
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman added: “We were called yesterday at 2.47pm (July 16) to reports of an incident on St James’s Road, Croydon.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene, with our first medics arriving within eight minutes of the call.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre by ground ambulance as a priority.”
