The lives of Earlsfield residents are being depicted on stage at their local theatre.

‘Earsfield Stories’ will be shown at the Tara Theatre in Garratt lane on the 28th of July.

Each story will tell the moments of love and chance that brought residents to live in the area.

The tales have been curated by Tara’s Artistic Director Jatinder Verma and will be performed by actors to display the variety of life in the area.

The show will include the stories of a woman who was the last signature on Sadiq Khan’s nomination as an MP and a man who worked in a Luncheon Club run by the local council and served 900 meals a day.

Other highlights of the theatre’s summer season include BBC Radio 4’s Poet-in-Residence, Daljit Nagra, hosting an evening of poetry and discussion of Britain and Empire.

The ‘Poets at Tara’ event will take place on the 26th of July. The poet will be joined on stage by Queen's Gold Medal winners Imtiaz Dharker and John Agard and Cholmondeley prize winner Grace Nichols.

Tickets for ‘Earlsfield Stories’ cost £5 and are available on the Tara Theatre’s website. Tickets for ‘Poets at Tara’ cost £15.
