A man has offered a £1,000 incentive for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person who ran over his grandmother.

Maureen White, 74, was hit by a car on the corner of London Road and Senhouse Road on June 19, resulting in her needing hip replacement surgery as well as suffering a broken ankle.

Her grandson, Harry Burroughs, told Sutton Guardian that Maureen is now living with him as she can’t use the stairs in her own flat.

He said: "I can’t believe someone could hit someone over and not own up to it. This reward might tempt someone because someone must know."

Harry added that his grandmother was now “slightly depressed” since the ordeal.

“Her daughter’s got brain tumours and she’s in a care home in Dartford. She hasn’t seen her for three weeks because she can’t drive now.

“It’s ruined her life because she can’t see her daughter. She is sleeping on my front room sofa. I’m fuming to say the least.”

Met Police has not confirmed whether there have been any arrests in relation to the incident.
