A concert held by the Sutton Chorale Choir has raised funds for the Mayor of Sutton’s charity appeal.
Sutton Carers Centre and Sutton Women’s Centre are Cllr Jean Crossby’s chosen charities.
Last week the Mayor greeted Sutton Chorale to a reception at the Civic Offices where a £200 cheque was handed over.
The choir performed the concert at All Saint’s Church in Carshalton in May where a Denmark choir named Gladsaxe Folkekor also played live.
Cllr Crossby said: “I am delighted to be able to thank you for putting on the concert. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was a lovely way to kick off my mayoral year. Both choirs were absolutely excellent.”
Sutton Chorale was formed in 2009 and has regularly toured Europe with latest trips including St Edmundsbury Catherdral in Wilmersdorf and Berlin and Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.
A special Sutton Chorale concert is planned for next year to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of WW1.
