Parking rules across the Southfields area will change for the duration of the Wimbledon tennis championships.

From Monday, July 3, to Sunday, July 16, parking controls in the area will operate between 8.30am and 8.30pm every day to ensure residents’ spaces are protected from the influx of tennis fans.

All the area’s existing parking zones will be combined to form one single tennis event zone (EZ) and this zone will also include some streets in the area that do not have existing controls.

Motorists who have an existing permit for the S1, S2, S3, S5, Q1 and Q2 parking zones will be entitled to park in the EZ zone.

All homes in the area will be issued with two free temporary permits they can give to visitors, and residents who normally park in streets within the EZ that are not normally subject to parking controls should also use them.

Wandsworth Council has warned the temporary permits are not for resale and anyone caught trying to sell them will face legal action.

Pay and display machines will be switched off to ensure residents’ spaces are protected.

All cars are be banned from parking along these roads.
