Technology that enables elderly and vulnerable people to live independently at home is being showcased next week.
MASCOT Telecare, based in Merton Civic Centre, Morden, provides people with an alarm unit and pendant button which automatically dials a 24-hour response centre when they need help. Staff can act by informing a relative or neighbour, send out a staff member or contact the emergency services.
The technology is being showcased to mark Telehealthcare Awareness Day on Friday June 3.
Around 1,600 people are currently supported by the technology.
Staff from the MASCOT Telecare team will be in the Link at Merton Civic Centre in London Road, Morden between 10am and 1pm, answering questions about the service and demonstrating the technology.
