The Burnell & Lewis Residents Association are hoping to host a street party to commemorate the Queen’s Sapphire Jubilee on Saturday 1 July.

The association will be wishing for better weather this time out as their first ever street party last year was drenched in rain.

A stopping-up order has been applied for the northern end of Lewis Road from 2pm to 8pm.

A spokesperson said: “We’ll need lots of help to set up, take down and marshall traffic, so if you can help on the day, or want to let us know your thoughts, send an email to burnellandlewisra@gmail.com.”

A bring-share lunch will be enjoyed with tombola’s, activities and games all being added to a fun day out.

Kids (or adults) will have the chance to have their face painted.

The event organiser encouraged you to bring union jack flags "no matter how you voted in the EU referendum".
